Loncar Cancer Immunotherapy Index Announces Merger Replacement
Armo Biosciences Added to the Only Index that Tracks Cancer Immunotherapy
Lenexa, KS -- March 1, 2018 -- Loncar Investments, LLC today announced a new addition to the Loncar Cancer Immunotherapy Index, a group of the top 30 companies developing cancer immunotherapy treatments and discovering new ways to use the body’s immune system to fight cancer.
The index committee has added Armo Biosciences (Nasdaq: ARMO). It replaces Juno Therapeutics (Nasdaq: JUNO).
The change comes ahead of the imminent close of Celgene's $9 billion acquisition of Juno Therapeutics.
Armo is at the forefront of researching the role of cytokines as immune growth factors and has a phase 3 clinical trial underway testing the use of recombinant human Interleukin 10 for the treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
“We thank Juno for its contributions to the field of cellular immunotherapy,” said Brad Loncar, Chairman of the index committee. “The Juno assets are in great hands as Celgene is a leader with a proven track record in treating hematologic cancers.”
The above changes were made after a special meeting of the index’s committee and according to its rules. The next regularly scheduled semi-annual rebalance and reconstitution of the index will occur on June 19, 2018.
